Well, we did it! We have really graduated! We conquered the new swim course, in the fog! We had the option of not swimming, swimming to one buoy only, and we did the entire course, all for one and one for all!
So, Tri Chix, next week, August 9th is YOUR DAY, you will shine and rise to the occasion. You are ready and you will rock!

It's official! Summer has Arrived!
Ok, Tri-Chix! Not only has summer arrived, but so have you!
Today was stellar, both in weather, conditions, and success! I have had some great emails, some with all around success, some with smaller 'ah ha' moments, and a few anxious moments as well. This is all normal! Like any given day, there are highs and lows. But, to spend a sunny Sunday morning with some of your best friends, swimming in the awesome Maine Atlantic ocean in your wetsuit, is just, well, almost perfect!
We know what we need to celebrate, and we know where we need to do a little work! It's all good!

The Willard Beach Swim!
These four tri-chix took the first plunge together into the ocean at Willard Beach. The best way to describe the experience was friggin’ cold, it helped to build our confidence….sort of, made us all realize we have lots more training to do to get used to the feel of open ocean swims………..and we felt soooooooo cool and proud...when we were done. It just keeps getting better!

Hi All,
Just wanted to give a HUGE thanks to Ann for opening her house to us this morning! What an amazing spot you have there. Going with the group helped me get into the ocean for the first time, so thanks, everyone, for the encouragement. Melissa and Cheryl amazed us all as they practiced their transitions, and biked and ran, while we cheered from the deck with our coffee and bagels in hand!
As for tomorrow, the plan is to meet at my house at 6:30a. We will do a 10-12 mile bike ride and then a run from my house. The neighborhood loop is 1.5 miles, so folks can decide to do as many loops as they want (and stop to rest, drink or pee if needed along the way!). The weather prediction is for rain overnight tapering to showers in the morning. Unless it is thundering or downpouring rain, I plan to be out there.

Tri Chix have become the Tri Goddesses!
It's official! There has been a shift, I saw it last year with the group and it has miraculously happened again. It takes a few angels, Cheryl and Ann might be working this one!
Here is Ann's email blast from July 9, 2009:
Just a reminder......you're all invited to come to Willard Beach for a swim Saturday morning at 8:00. Several of us swam last night in those hurricane conditions.....we should get extra credit for that,eh? I sent directions to house in the last email, so won't repeat myself.
Cheryl volunteered to bring muffins for anyone who swims, so give an RSVP if you'll be joining.

a few of us swam around...no big distance..but we swam yesterday in that horrible wind etc...it was really cold but we did it...i am just trying to acclimate to the cold!!!!! it was actually fun..i felt like a goddess!!!! thanks for your inspirational note.
Since things seem to happen for a reason, I hadn't ordered this year's shirts, I just found the invoice and all the info. the other day....so it seems fitting that this year they should state on the front:
'Tri-Chix Tri-Goddess!" And then on the back, 'Find Your Inner Athlete, She's Ready!"
