Tri-Chix 2009 is really gearing up!

So far there are about 30 women training with me for the Tri for a Cure all women’s triathlon in South Portland, Maine. Created by Julie Marchese and Abby Bliss, this triathlon is dedicated to raising money for cancer research. All of the money raised will remain in the state of Maine! It’s a noble cause and 700 women have signed up for this year’s race and as I mentioned, 30 of them are training with Tri-Chix to get ready! There are many different reasons for signing up, some women are survivors, friends or family of survivors, some women want to take on a personal challenge or make a life change.

Today we ran on the run section of the course. Every woman ran the entire course and we had a blast! See our smiles!

  1. Hi Chess and Tri-Chix '09-ers!
I ran the Laura Vogel 5k in Portland that day, only my second road race ever and placed first in age-group! Thanks Chess for the dietary and training guidance. I did however, pull an obscure muscle in my right hip and was unable to join you for the tri practice run. You all look marvellous!!
Happy Training! We're on our way!
